We employed a new style for the lobby area of this business complex in the heart of downtown Santa Monica. Using a simple grid with a limited color palette, and hand-made, mid-century modern aesthetics, we created something we don’t usually do (but are nonetheless proud of). The designs in each rectangle are all illustrations of nature, but with differing levels of abstraction. The point of the mural is to not only look good on first glance, but to also allow viewers moments of discovery while they sit and wait, staring at these seemingly arbitrary marks on the wall.
